Last night my husband and I experienced the best concert we have ever seen in our lives. Aussie guitarist Tommy Emmanuel blew our minds with his showmanship and incredible talent for making his guitar sound like a piano, Native American flute, African drum, Kalimba and fiddle. If you have never heard of Tommy, I encourage you to check out his music. As in right this minute! =) Tommy has been named one of the world’s greatest guitarists and there is no doubt he has earned that title. His performance was highly entertaining, beautifully paced and sheer musical genius. It’s hard to put into words how amazing his performance was, so I will leave you with one of my favorite pieces of the night titled, “Mombasa”. He wrote the piece after visiting two Kenyan children he sponsored through World Vision (A fantastic charity if your looking for one, by the way). I loved this piece for his incredible interpretation of African rhythms. Hope you enjoy!
