#AMTA12 conference in Chicago was amazing in so many ways, I thought I would share my conference experience through pictures this time around!  I kicked off this national conference in style (quite literally) with a limo ride from O’hare to our hotel with my friends and colleagues, Deforia Lane and Tara Griest of University Hospitals of Cleveland and Kat Fulton of Music Therapy Ed.

Once we arrived at the conference hotel, Kat and I headed straight to the Mega Center to set up the Music Therapy Ed booth. That evening we met up with the MTed instructors minus one (we missed you Rachel!) to talk up Kat’s amazing online video learning site for music therapists.  It was awesome to finally meet and network with my fellow instructors and Twitter peeps in person! Connecting with other music therapy business owners and clinicians is always my favorite part of conference and these ladies did not disappoint! Kat, Nat, Jamie, Meganne and Natasha, ya’ll ROCK!

Besides attending meetings and concurrent sessions, I had the privilege to share my favorite topic (the iPad in Music Therapy, of course!) with an amazing (and patient through a few technical difficulties!) group of music therapists and students who came with their iPads in hand eager to learn!  Just look at all those iPad screens!

And what would an iPad presentation be without an iPad band, right?!  Thanks to Kat, Nat and Mike (Hubby of Meryl Brown) for rockin’ out “Somebody That I Use To Know” to kick off the presentation. =)

Conference wasn’t all work and no play though!  When I wasn’t filling up on lots of great content and ideas during concurrent sessions, I got to reconnect with friends and professors from my college days at the OU Alumni hangout,

Cut loose on and off the dance floor with my music therapy Twitter peeps,

And enjoy a special post-conference hang out with my friend and all-around amazing MT-BC and person, Kat!

Oh yeah, and that Tornado warning you heard about on Sunday at the Chicago O’hare airport…Here’s what 5,000+ people congregating in the tunnel connecting Terminal 1 and 2 waiting out the storm looks like.  The storm delayed tons of flights (mine included) but thankfully everyone made it home safe and sound.

So how about you?  Did you attend conference this year or follow the #AMTA12 thread on Twitter?  Chime in with your favorite experience or session below.  Next up for me is #GLR13 then national conference in Jacksonville!  Hope to see you at #AMTA13!
