Technology has been a HUGE part of my journey as a music therapist.  Each week I will share a video, resource, tutorial, app review or technology tip that I have found useful in keeping my music therapy practice and my business in tip-top technology shape! Purple Video IconHave you ever wanted to use a YouTube music video in your individual or group music therapy sessions but don’t have internet access in your session space to use it?  While I don’t use videos in music therapy sessions often, I have found videos helpful to further demonstrate the meaning of a song, teach a social skill or demonstrate a musical element to enhance my client(s) capacity to conceptualize, visualize and master a skill.  This week I’m sharing a SUPER easy way to download and save YouTube videos to your computer so you can burn to a dvd, share to another device (an iPad, maybe?!) or play during a session without having to connect to the internet.  Click on my Vimeo tutorial below to watch this time saving tip. Oh and be sure to give this tutorial a thumps up if you found it helpful!

Have you ever used YouTube videos in your individual or group music therapy sessions?  Have you found adding this piece of technology helpful for your clients?  Please share in the comments!
