The sentiment above can’t express how happy I am to share the good news that we have met our $2000 fundraising goal for the Give Your Regards to Broadway Summer camp! Thanks to all who shared support by tweeting, re-tweeting, Facebooking, emailing and donating. And a super Garfoose thank you goes to our newest celebrity supporter, Mr. James Denton. James, the TV star from the show Desperate Housewives, is an awesome human being who reached out to support our camp after reading my hubby’s book, Out of My League, in which Dirk takes a whole chapter to describe the music therapy work I’m privileged to do day in and out. James, a musician himself, is no stranger to supporting cool causes. James is a member of Band From TV, which donates all of the money it raises to important causes world-wide. A special high-five from all of us, James!
Over the next few days, I will have the honor of sharing with families and campers that their GYR2B Summer camp experience will be FREE. Some have already heard the good news, and well, let’s just say the expression “happy camper” is most appropriate to describe their excitement!
And lest I forget, we are so excited for the giveaway on April 30, 2013 for all who donated to the GYR2B Summer camp! Tune it to the GG on April 30th, when we will announce the winners of the Dirk Hayhurst signed baseball cards, books AND an iPad 4 to three lucky donors who supported our camp!
From all of us at the GG, Thank You for your support and keep it Groovy!

Over the last 12 months, I’ve challenged myself to write an original song for piano that corresponds to each month. Today, I’m proud and happy to share all 12 months with you! Now that the challenge is over, I can definitely say the best part of this process is that I have a whole new album to show for it! I’m looking forward to sharing the album with clients and patients and even a few family members too.
The final two songs for the months, February and March were a lot of fun to compose. February’s song was inspired by my recent trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where I got to see and hear whales on my very first whale watching trip.

Although it’s still snowy here in Ohio, I’m hopeful the snow will begin to melt as Spring approaches. I guess you could say my song for March was inspired by wishful thinking of my tulips blooming and the birds waking me up each morning!
Take a listen to February and March below. And don’t forget to share which song of the month is YOUR favorite in the comments!
