How Music Therapy Services Work in a School
Our school-based music therapy services are designed with your students in mind and are available for any classroom type including pull out/push in models, integrated or inclusion models or self-contained classrooms. Group sessions allow for maximum value to all students in the classroom and allow us to capitalize on the strengths of the students to foster socialization, teamwork, attention through motivating, engaging their senses through instrument playing, singing, song choices, musical games, movement, songwriting, and relaxation. Sessions are structured with a “hello song”, “goodbye song”, and visual and schedule supports to maximize participation, focus, and predictability.
In addition, our team of board-certified music therapists sets goals and objectives for all group members providing monthly progress reports to staff and decision makers highlighting the growth and progress made by each student.
